Playing solo frees composers to fully express
their ideas about arrangements and improvisation.
There is no band to rehearse and only their fingers
to direct. In her U.S. premiere, Heloisa Fernandes
won audiences over with the clarity and conviction of
her ideas, performing not only her own compositions
but also works from her favorite composers such as
Tom Jobim.

The piano trio is a legendary format for pianists,
and Heloísa creates a unique and personal sound
with double bassist Zeca Assumpção and percussionist
Ari Colares. They perform music drawn from Heloísa’s
two recordings, as well as new, unrecorded pieces,
whose interpretations deepen with each performance.
